Oktoberfest’s encore, Halloween plans and a pastry-sized outing.

Weekend guide:
October 30–November 1, 2026

Morning, neighbors!

Halloween has company this weekend: Oktoberfest’s rescheduled riverfront celebration runs into November, and Tampa’s last round of seasonal outings is ready for your calendar.

I’ve also kept room for smaller plans. There’s an $8.50 coffee-and-baklava starting point at Psomi, a beach guide for the next clear day, and Oxford Exchange’s tea options to check before booking. You don’t have to fill every hour to enjoy living here.

Trivia Question❓

Which river runs beside Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park?

Worth knowing before you put on real shoes

Friday: Oktoberfest opens at 4 p.m. at Curtis Hixon. Check your existing ticket against the new dates.

Saturday: Choose Guppyween, Hocus Pocus at 3 p.m., or ZooTampa after 4 p.m. Check each venue’s costume rules.

A smaller outing: Psomi’s coffee-and-pastry menu keeps the morning manageable.

Sunday: Allow for rain, and remember the clocks go back overnight.

Oktoberfest Tampa 2026: Plan Your Rescheduled Riverfront Visit

Oktoberfest Tampa has moved to October 30–November 1, 2026, at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. The organizer’s updated homepage confirms the weather-related change, so check your calendar if you saved the original dates.

Hours are Friday 4–11 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.–11 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m.–6 p.m., all local Tampa time. Friday works for an after-work visit; Saturday gives you the longest window. Sunday closes earlier.

The city listing shows a $10 cost and says existing presale tickets will be honored. Live ticket tiers and fees couldn’t be verified, so check your chosen ticket’s final total before paying. Keep food, drinks and transport in a separate part of the budget.

Under the organizer’s terms, everyone under 21 must be accompanied by a parent. Children 12 and younger receive complimentary general admission with their parents. Confirm a teenager’s ticket and any children’s activity schedule.

Find the park at 600 N. Ashley Drive. Check current city parking information; older festival directions include parking claims we haven’t confirmed for this visit.

Choose your arrival time and return ride before leaving. Check the forecast, especially for Sunday, and ask before taking an empty place at a shared table. A little preparation leaves more room for the music.

Psomi’s Tampa Bakery Counter: Coffee and a Pastry to Go

Psomi gives Tampa neighbors a small outing to put on the calendar: coffee and a pastry to take away. The Greek bakery and restaurant is at 701 N. Howard Ave., with posted hours of Wednesday through Sunday, 8 a.m.–3 p.m.

A suggested first order is mama’s baklava with drip coffee, totaling $8.50 before tax and tip on the bakery-and-coffee menu. Menu prices were rechecked October 30, 2026; confirm your final bill when ordering.

For takeaway, the official ordering page lists pickup, curbside and delivery. Check availability and wait for confirmation before treating collection as arranged. Live pickup windows, stock and fees couldn’t be verified.

The current site doesn’t explain the walk-in counter routine. Tell staff you’re there for bakery takeaway and ask where to order. If the queue or seating arrangement matters to your plans, call or text (813) 841-5555 first.

Parking needs a little room in the schedule, too. Psomi lists an overflow lot at Howard and Cypress, plus valet off Cass Street Friday through Sunday; ask about its charge.

Keep Parea Market next door as an optional browse, and choose a backup pastry before leaving home. Coffee and a small bag of something good can be the whole outing.

Beaches Near Tampa: How to Choose the Right Spot for Your Day

Beach plans near Tampa work better when everyone agrees on the kind of day first. Ben T. Davis Beach and Cypress Point Park sit on Old Tampa Bay inside Tampa. The Gulf options in this guide are in Pinellas County.

Choose Clearwater Beach for swimming near an actively staffed lifeguard tower and a beach-town day. Its Pier 60 lot costs $3.50 an hour, so a six-hour stay means $21 before payment-service charges. Nearby street parking has a five-hour limit.

For family facilities, Sand Key Park offers bathhouses, showers and a playground. Lifeguards are seasonal; don’t assume coverage this weekend. Honeymoon Island suits a longer natural-shoreline walk, with vehicle admission of $8 for up to eight people or $4 for a solo driver.

Fort De Soto rewards a full outing with beach time and a picnic. Check current park notices: paving is expected through early 2027, and events delay opening until 9 a.m. on October 31 and November 14, 2026.

Sand Key and Fort De Soto parking changes December 1, 2026, from $6 daily to $3.50 an hour, capped at $12 daily.

For a shorter Tampa sunset stop, try Ben T. Davis or Cypress Point. Before swimming, check beach-water advisories and the separate red-tide report. Confirm pet rules and access before loading the car.

Hocus Pocus at Tampa Theatre

Series artwork: Tampa Theatre, A Nightmare on Franklin Street 2026.

Saturday, October 31, 2026 • 3 p.m. EDT • 711 N. Franklin St.

A seated Halloween outing with the Sanderson sisters and a PG family comedy. The current page lists doors at 2 p.m. and the film at 3 p.m., with open seating in the Historic Duncan Auditorium.

General admission is $13, members $10, plus a $2 service fee for online purchases. This “Mummy & Me” screening is free for children 12 and younger; confirm how to collect their tickets when booking. The film runs 1 hour 36 minutes. Check its content before bringing a younger child.

See the official screening and ticket link.

Guppyween’s final trick-or-treat day

Event artwork: The Florida Aquarium, Guppyween 2026.

Saturday, October 31, 2026 • 9 a.m.–5 p.m. EDT • The Florida Aquarium

Costumes meet the aquarium tanks at 701 Channelside Drive. October 31 is the last listed complimentary trick-or-treating date in this year’s Guppyween program.

Children in costume receive free admission with a paid parent or guardian, with the offer redeemed at the Aquarium ticket window only. Confirm the adult price and offer terms before buying online. General admission pricing varies; parking is separate.

The wider Guppyween program runs October 24–31. The October 23 member night and October 25 sensory-friendly session have already passed.

Creatures of the Night: the closing weekend

Event image: ZooTampa at Lowry Park, Creatures of the Night.

Friday–Saturday, October 30–31, 2026 • 4–10 p.m. EDT • ZooTampa

ZooTampa’s seasonal evening program finishes with two more nights at 1101 W. Sligh Avenue. Expect themed realms and entertainment; use the event map to choose the scare levels that suit your party.

The official page lists after-4-p.m. admission of $34.95 Friday and $39.95 Saturday. Confirm the final checkout total. Daily parking costs $10 for nonmembers, including Zoo Fun ticket holders; members need a registered vehicle for free parking. Members and eligible Zoo Fun ticket holders receive included admission; check your pass terms.

Costume rule: Children 12 and younger may dress up. Guests 13 and older may not wear costumes, masks, wigs or face paint; toy weapons are prohibited for every age. The event runs rain or shine with no refunds.

Check tickets, the map and entry rules.

Sunday tea, with the right reservation

Image: Oxford Exchange, from its official tea-service page.

Oxford Exchange’s monthly afternoon tea is listed for the first Sunday, 3–5 p.m. We couldn’t confirm a November 1, 2026 tea experience in the linked booking page. Confirm that date with Oxford Exchange before making plans.

The posted prices are $75 per adult and $55 for children’s tea. Confirm fees, dietary arrangements and cancellation terms in the experience booking. A standard restaurant reservation doesn’t secure the monthly tea.

For a weekday plan, Traditional Tea Service runs Monday–Friday. The tea page lists $44, while the linked all-day menu shows $45; confirm the current price before booking. Find Oxford Exchange at 420 W. Kennedy Boulevard. Keep those two services straight and the only debate left is who gets the last scone.

The neighbors behind the theatre nights

Tampa Theatre’s volunteer corps has a name suited to Halloween: The Gargoyles, inspired by the lobby’s statuary.

These neighbors help usher at performances and support theatre tours, among other roles. Volunteers must be at least 18. The theatre’s volunteer page links to its Gargoyle Guide and Shiftboard registration, where you can check the process and available shifts.

If you’ve wanted a reason to become a familiar face somewhere in Tampa, this is one practical place to start. Tour duties require training; signing up doesn’t guarantee a particular assignment.

One small clock check

At 2 a.m. Sunday, November 1, 2026, Tampa clocks go back to 1 a.m. Check any clock you set manually. Friday and Saturday event times are EDT; Sunday daytime plans use EST. NIST’s time-change dates have the details.

And if Fort De Soto is your Saturday escape, the park’s current notice says it opens at 9 a.m. on October 31 because of a special event.

💡 Answer to Trivia Question:
The Hillsborough River. Oktoberfest’s organizer describes its Curtis Hixon celebration as being alongside the Hillsborough. See the festival’s riverfront setting.

Pick one outing you’ll enjoy, leave a little room around it, and keep the pastry bag upright.

See you around town,
